Tuburan Institute, Inc., the pioneering Steiner/Waldorf school in Mindanao, is looking for committed individuals who are passionate about children, education, and bringing about a meaningful change in the world!

We are in urgent need of people to help us grow Tuburan by being part of our Faculty and Resource Mobilization Units!

1. Class Teacher and Kindergarten Nurturer (Fulltime)

Key Responsibilities:
– Lead class instruction in the framework of Steiner/Waldorf pedagogy and teaching approaches
– Facilitate the learning processes and development of students based on the indicators of Steiner/Waldorf education
– Prepare the necessary instructional materials, lesson and block plans, and reports
– Manage the physical classroom space, as well as the children’s learning spaces in school
– Work closely with parents in enriching the students’ learning environment both at home and in school
– Collaborate closely with teachers and staff in sensing the needs of children in school and the community of parents/guardians
– Undertake self-initiated study on the pedagogy and inner development work
– Participate in studies, trainings, learning sessions, community events, organizational development and decision-making processes
– Perform non-teaching-related tasks
– Care for one’s health and well-being, and nurture a personal interest in life and the world

Qualifications:
– Willing to teach children through Steiner/Waldorf educational pedagogy and approaches
– Open to understand/learn about Anthroposophy as foundation of Steiner education
– Committed to life-long learning and to the journey of self-development
– Keen in enhancing confidence, creativity, and imagination
– Communicates well, and is capable of receiving and giving feedback constructively
– Can work independently and can deliver outputs with minimal supervision
– A team player – capable of holding and respectful of group processes
– Graduate of any 4-year course yet willing to take Education units and LET
– Inclination to music, dance, theater and the arts is an advantage

2. Music Teacher (Fulltime/Part-time)

Key Responsibilities:
– Develop Tuburan’s music curriculum along the concept and approaches of Steiner/Waldorf music education
– Study indigenous music vis-à-vis indicators of Steiner/Waldorf music education
– Collaborate closely with class teachers in teaching Waldorf music to all classes
– Prepare the necessary instructional materials, lesson and block plans, and reports
– Oversee the maintenance and proper usage and storage of all musical instruments
– Participate in studies, trainings, learning sessions, organizational development and decision-making processes
– Perform non-teaching-related tasks
– Care for one’s health and well-being, and nurture a personal interest in life and the world

Qualifications:
– Musically inclined, and has the basics on music theories and framework
– Willing to teach children along the concept and framework of Steiner/Waldorf music education
– Open to understand/learn about Anthroposophy as foundation of Steiner education
– Committed to life-long learning and to the journey of self-development
– Communicates well, and is capable of receiving and giving feedback constructively
– Can work independently and can deliver outputs with minimal supervision
– A team player – capable of holding and respectful of group processes
– Can play at least one (1) musical instrument as an advanced skill

3. Resource Mobilization Staff (Fulltime)

Key Responsibilities:
– Understand Tuburan’s framework and core identities in the implementation of organizational strategies and plans for fund-sourcing, marketing, and network-building
– Study and enhance Tuburan’s fundraising principles
– Develop (and maintain existing) partnerships and linkages with individuals and donor organizations
– Nurture and expand Tuburan’s network of support
– Work closely with Tuburan’s ICT consultant on website development and email marketing
– Oversee the production of Tuburan’s marketing collaterals
– Grow Tuburan’s business ventures
– Support fundraising initiatives of parents
– Participate in studies, trainings, learning sessions, organizational development and decision-making processes
– Care for one’s health and well-being, and nurture a personal interest in life and the world

Qualifications:
– Optimistic and willful – Believer of infinite possibilities
– Confident and can easily build rapport with people
– Possesses advanced writing skills and can perform simple layouting tasks
– Internet/technology-savvy
– Open to understand/learn about Steiner/Waldorf education and Anthroposophy
– Committed to life-long learning and to the journey of self-development
– Communicates well, and is capable of receiving and giving feedback constructively
– Organized, can work independently and can deliver outputs with minimal supervision
– A team player – capable of holding and respectful of group processes
– A completed college degree is an advantage
